Vermont Business & Commerce

Vermont recreation, business, and tourism interests

Like the state in which we choose to live, you will see that our businesses are diverse and strong, from some of the largest Vermont businesses to self-employed members. Our members are an integral part of the largest and most influential business organization in Vermont , from Brattleboro in the south to the Lake Champlain region in the north.

The Vermont Chamber of Commerce gives employers the highest quality representation within our primary program areas of government relations; economic development and job opportunity; Vermont tourism and business marketing and support; domestic and international trade; and business-education partnerships.

Vermont tourism and business economic development

In Vermont , one of our primary business sectors is tourism. In fall, people flock to catch a glimpse of our strikingly colorful foliage from Manchester to the Lake Champlain region. In the winter, our ski mountains and resorts draw further multitudes. And in the spring and summer, hiking and camping bring yet more visitors to our state.

At the Chamber of Commerce we recognize the integral relationship between Vermont recreation and business. This duality drives our approach to Vermont tourism and business. On our site, you will find Seasonal Guides and Accommodations Listings in addition to legislative bulletins and trade program information.

Vermont legislation, lobbying and government affairs

The Vermont Chamber of Commerce has a powerful voice at the Vermont State House, where we represent the interests of the Vermont tourism and business community.

The Chamber promotes policies that are good for economic development and for the community of employers we represent. To accomplish these objectives, we focus on lobbying, fostering member-legislator relationships, and publications to help keep members informed of Vermont legislation issues.

International Trade Program

The Vermont Chamber's international trade program, initiated six years ago, has developed into a full-time, ongoing program. Program staff are responsible for an export assistance program promoting Vermont products and services to Taiwan and the Pacific Rim . In addition, the Vermont Chamber of Commerce recently opened an office in Shanghai , joining the other Pacific Rim office of the Vermont Chamber in Taipei , Taiwan .

For more information on our approach to the dual nature of Vermont recreation and business economic development, please explore the Visitors and Business segments of the site.
